This isn’t even his best song.

I prefer the Poor Sod which I have an mp3 of recorded from a crackly vinyl. It makes it even more moving.

If you are looking for a Xmas Gift for someone who likes music that deals with heartbreak, comedy, roosters, and love then the Jake In A Box set is a winner.

Some people accused Thackray of misogyny due to On Again! On Again! but many of his songs fly in the face of that.
